Enyo Living is the passion-project of Meike Coldewe-Ajala and her husband Nelson Ajala.

The couple met in 2016 in Paris, France at the first day of their Master‘s programme of International Relations where they quickly realized that their determination to bring positive change to the world was just one of the many things they had in common.

Their different background and upbringing, with Meike as a German and Nelson being a Ghanaian, has been one of the most enriching factors to their union.

Sparked by the first longer joint stay in Ghana in 2017, the concept for Enyo Living started taking shape.

The fact that you could go to any artisan by the roadside and get furniture and interior items for your home custome-made and handcrafted was amazing! Something that in Europe was far from the norm and very expensive. The quality of the final result in Ghana however, was far from guaranteed.

Based on various interactions with local artisans, in order to equip their small living space with furniture, Meike and Nelson were convinced that this could be done better!

So why not combine the good of both worlds, add solid customer service, a branding, training and guaranteed quality to the environment-friendly made-to-order approach in Ghana and deliver the products to Ghanaians and clients in the world that they deserve, while simultaneously improving the livelihoods of artisans?

For the next 5 years however, Meike and Nelson grew their career in the field of International Development Cooperation in the capital of the European Union, Brussels.

By the End of 2023, the couple finally decided to make the move and make Enyo Living a reality.

With the birth of their second child the decision was made to make the shift from a good job in corporate Europe, and use the family-based career break from Meike, as an opportunity to follow the calling to establish a purpose-driven business in Ghana.

With a strong believe in the beauty and strength of diversity, Meike and Nelson founded Enyo Living to bring their professional experiences from development cooperation to use in a more direct and impactful way.
